simonizor
Its funny when people play with everything on ultra or high and before thinking that -maybe- turning down the graphics options may give you more FPS, they start a new thread on the forums.even poeple that have pc's that can outrun the game have FPS problem on ultra and maybe they dont want to play on medium/low so that why they ask but idk why they have to make a new thread everytime since it been awser so many times now. I have pretty much the exact PC that Bethesda recommends to play Fallout 4 with double the RAM. That tells me that I should be able to run the game with all of the settings maxed with no frame rate issues. This is not the case for me; with shadow distance on anything above "medium" (which happens to actually be the lowest setting), and I get frame rate dips down to the low 30s in the dense city areas. I've tried setting the shadow distance value manually because there's a very large gap between medium and high (3000 vs 14000), but still anything above 3000 gives me frame rate dips down to the low 30's. With shadow distance set to 3000, I get pretty much solid 60 FPS. I might go down to 55 every now and then, but that's not really noticeable. There has to be some sort of poor optimization going on here if I somehow can get 60 FPS on 3000, but going even a little above that gives me drops into the low 30s. If this is happening with the exact hardware that they recommend to run the game, I can't imagine what anyone running lower specs is going through.
