Vythicus
I want a mod that makes it so the helmets in the game can be equiped but it doesn't show them on your character model, so they look like they aren't wearing one. I've been doing some mods, so I tried disassociating the mesh in teh CS, but I ended up with a bald character with no ears, so I deleted the .esp. Does anyone have an idea of how to do this? I used to play World of Warcraft, and in the options, you could tick or untick the 'show helm' tab, depending if you liked the way your helmet looked, or would rather view your characters full head and hair. My character looks badass, but some of the helmets destroy and mask my characters identity, and I want to have the stat boost, but I don't want to see the helmet displayed. THanks!!!! -V
ninja_lord666
I know that someone made more slots for rings but they aren't actual 'slots' so, they won't show on the character. I'm thinking if someone made a new 'slot' for the helmet, you could equip it without it showing. Personally, I would love this. My character uses Ren's hair, specifically one with the cloth mask. This is to hide a horrible scar that he got. Of course there isn't an actual scar there, but whenever I equip a helmet/hood, the cloth disappears with the hair which ruins the affect. I hope someone makes this mod.
Vagrant0
Essentially, the same trick used with rings would work on helmets too. There isn't a new slot added, but rather all rings are changed not to use any slot. You get errors in the CS, can wear as many helmets as you want, but yeah, it can be done and is very easy to do.http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/ArmorIt's the biped object slot that's the key, not what mesh is linked to the helmet. I checked out that mod, and indeed, learned how to do what I wanted. It won't work as cleanly as I hoped, but at least it's do-able. Actually, I had this idea as the original means to create the mod, but until I browsed the ring mod you refer to, I didn't notice any slots that weren't needed for something else. Anyhow, here is the details of my new approach:Each helmet needs to have a seperate esp, because if I make all helmets invisible (not shown, so you see your characters full head), well, even NPC's don't have helmets. If I do each helmet seperately, then you just activate the esp of the helmet you are wearing, that way, only you and any NPC's wearing that helmet (with the exact Editor ID) won't wear a helmet, so the repricussions aren't as severe. For example, if you are wearing an Iron Helmet, and have "Hide Iron Helmet.esp" activated, you, and anyone wearing an Iron helmet will apear not to be wearing a helmet at all, but their stats (in this case, only their armor class) will still act like they are wearing one. It's quite a bit of clicking to do every helmet, so I may or may not get around to this soon. Fortunately, there are actually quite a bit of helmets that only NPC's wear, so that's less esp's that I need to create if I want to do this mod completely. I will at least get around to creating ones for helmets, hoods, or other headgear I usually use. Thanks Vagrant0.
