zucchini1822
Yeah, you're probably right Ninja_lord666. Maybe throw in the Monkey People just for the fun of it, too! The monkey king could look suspiciously like DK...

Without the player tamriel would have been lost forever.

Having him/her become the emperor would just be a little too much for me... One person can't be everything important can they? I don't like the idea of a long lost relative either... We kinda went through that with Martin execpt that he wasn't really long lost, but he wasnt out in the open like his borthers...

We kinda went through that with Martin execpt that he wasn't really long lost, but he wasnt out in the open like his borthers...I tend to agree that we can become the leader of too much. I think, that depending on your character alignment (bring back D&D!), example: Lawful Good, Neutral Evil, Chaotic Good, etc. you can't join some factions. If you're lawful, no way will the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood want you, and, if you stay true to your character, you wouldn't want to join them. If you're chaotic or evil, you can't join the fighter's guild since they hold up the laws to protect the citizens. However, becoming Emperor would be nice. Logically, though, the council wouldn't let you join until they realize that they do need an emperor and the Septims are all gone. They would ask you, but by then it would be too late and the provinces rebel, or Akavir attacks... As for another long lost relative, that would be too repetitive. No one would buy it. Yes, Martin was long lost. He had no idea who he was. No one else knew who he was, save Uriel and Jaufree. As far as the world knew, there was no other son. Abramul
I, for one, would like to see Barenziah's love-child assume the throne. It's never actually stated that it was killed, merely strongly implied. (I seem to recall this being suggested as the heir for TES:IV a while back)

They didn't come right out and say the child was dead, but it could have happened no other way. It was obvious Septim didn't want the child to live because he would get in trouble with his wife and publicly shamed. When the mage used his magic, Barenziah fell unconscious, and when she came to, she felt an emptiness inside here. She was also bleeding out of her <censored>. They were inside of Septim's room, so because of her being unconscious in his room there was no way she could have saved her child, and Septim definitely wasn't going to do it. Also, don't you think that after hundreds of years, she would find out her child is alive? You can't say that it's possible that someone like that would go unnoticed. Martin was Uriel's son, and only a few people knew about it. They didn't tell anyone, yet the enemy found out. I would think that her child would be found out sooner or later. I think thats such a better description on the making of that child mentioned former, however the child mentioned latter....MARTIN Septim.is so much more mysterious, in fact, theres no written backup for it whatsoever !!You heard it here. WHERE is lore on that?they just through together a story that is hollywood enough.OMG SPOILER !?!?!?!!!!.1.1. one one besides ......when you beat the game aren't YOU the one to "write" the next elder scroll?I'm pretty sure were all writing?........nah
ninja_lord666
besides ......when you beat the game aren't YOU the one to "write" the next elder scroll?I'm pretty sure were all writing?........nahEveryone 'writes' the Elder Scrolls. Whenever something is done, it is recorded forever on the Elder Scrolls as the ultimate truth. So, by waking up in the morning and going to your local weapon smith to buy a new sword, you 'write' in the Elder Scroll that you woke up in the morning and went to your local weapon smith to buy a new sword. The Elder Scrolls record every little detail no matter how insignificant. They will record the exact second a butterfly landed on a flower, exactly which butterfly and flower, and where on the flower the butterfly landed. However, just because it was recorded, doesn't mean the blind moth priests will want to read about a butterfly landing on a flower.
PaulEmil
I just had a truly disturbing thought: Tamriel as a republic! I do not think, given the history of Tamriel, that a republic would work. Ocato as regent works okay, as everyone knows it's a temporary measure, but an elected ruler, I feel, would go against the whole feel of the series. (now beginneth a flight of fancy) How about a questline where you join a faction seeking to bring "Democracy" to Tamriel, in the vein of the Americans bringing "Democracy" to the middle east? i.e. A fast getting rid of Ocato, followed years of guerilla warfare and political instability, sort of the Imperial City becoming a wreck with all the fireballs going off, City patrols being ambushed and killed by a mad cult leader and his cronies, citizens living in terror, that sort of thing (here endeth the flight of fancy. now, proceed to flame)
