Changing NPC appearance

Is the any simple way to go about this? I have seen screenshots of modified NPCs, and I would love to change Caits look a bit, specifically adding a little weight to her.

You can open up the console and type in "slm Id-of-the-NPC". For Cait it SHOULD be "slm 00079305". That opens up the editor (you have to close the console first). As long as you're in the console you can click on any NPC to get it's ID (use the mousewheel if you can't seem to get the right ID) and change their appearance.

 

EDIT : Oh and it really helps if you're standing right in front of the NPC you want to edit...otherwise you might not be able to actually see what you're doing :D

When I fooled with SLM on Piper and a random settler, the looks menu thing was very wonky and unpredictable in

behavior as compared to say when you use the tools in character creation at start of the game.

 

I gave up trying to get it to do much other than having some luck with the body triangle bit.

Far as twiddling with facial features, hair and the like.. was a..as I said, unpredictable and unreliable.

 

I seem to recall such was the case in prior titles using same base engine.

Just will have to wait for toolkit I reckon.

Does anyone know if there is a way to reset the appear of a NPC after editing them. I messed with Piper too much and I want to change her back to her default look.
