Deleted1832463User
I'm also having the same issue. Each time you click the mod the warning pops up and after you close it. The only thing when you click it again is that the same warning pops up. Never installs the mod to make it viewable in the Plugin area.
YLedbetter
Same issue here... I did notice that my file is called "Fallout4_Default.ini" instead of "Fallout4.ini". I also didn't have anything that said [Launcher] in my Fallout4Prefs.ini
DannyOuter
Greetings.... I will try to help you with the situation. (this method worked for me) Something happen to me that I had an issue with the mods and it crashed my game after. So I did this steps STEP 1 Disable all mods that you have install and delete bEnableFileSelection=1 on Fallout4Prefs.ini under [Archive] then go to Fallout4.ini and delete STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ on the Fallout4.ini under [Archive] and where it said's sResourceDataDirsFinal= After you delete all of those codes that allow you to do modding... do the next step. STEP 2 Go to steam and right click on the fallout 4 icon and click properties and on local files click where it said Verified integrity of game cahce when it ends doing it, do it again. And after it finish, do the last step. Important note: The verification will delete the bEnableFileSelection=1 that is in the Fallout4Prefs.ini file under [Launcher] STEP 3 After you did the verification go to the Fallout4Prefs.ini and under [Launcher] write again the bEnableFileSelection=1. Then click save, and go to Fallout4.ini and write again STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ under [Archive] next to sResourceDataDirsFinal= and click save as well. Then go to NMM and activate the mods you have install, that will work correctly if for some odd reason your game crashed because of the mods and it keeps doing it after a while. P.s. Hope this help, I did this and it worked for me. Edited November 20, 2015 by DannyOuter

Deleted1832463User
I did the steps and when I try to install a mod in NMM the only thing that happens when I double click it is the pop up warning - "To install Fallout 4 mods you are REQUIRED to make some necessary ini edits." I did the steps multiple times but it's still the only option that NMM pops up with when I try to install the mods. *Edit* I found the issue. In the preferences ini i added the entire string to the bottom of the archive section instead of in the actual line in the text order itself. Nmm is wokin! TacticalxZebra
This is a bit off topic, but I haven't been using NMM for long and I'm curious as to how you know which mods need to be downloaded manually and which ones you can download through NMM, activate, and then they work instantly.
