No Purified Water in Workshop (BUG) :(

hello, ive setup a few water purification systems in my settlement and at first they worked perfectly (spawned water everytime i was there)

but since a day or two they dont anymore, every time i get there, the workshop is emtpy (ive noticed that also other stuff doesnt get deposited anymore, like crops)

ive googled for the issue and there were a few people with the same issue. but nobody found a clear solution (most didnt resolve the issue at all)

what ive tried so far:

-take out everything from the workbench and put it somewhere else (even all the junk so its completly emtpy)

-making a whole lot more water purifiers and pumps, even turned some of them off

-removing all TV's from the settlement (i know it sounds crazy but its supposed to resolve another bug with settlements, so i tried it)

-playing with the powerlines and generators of the water purifiers

-the last thing ive tried was disabling all npc's via the console

one guy on reddit suggested that it doesnt spawn if there is already water in the workshop, but ive always taken all of it out, and even tried removing ALL items from the entire workshop (even all junk)

still no water spawn (and other stuff didnt spawn either)

i think this might be one of the most knowledgable communities when it comes to fallout, so maybe someone here will have a helpful suggestion :)

or maybe someone understands abit better how the water comes into the workbench in the first place (and could explain that)

ive even tried loading a much much older savegame, in which it should work, but it seemed to not spawn any water on that savegame either.... its really really weird

(maybe a file is damaged somehow?!?!)

anyways if anyone has any ideas im very happy to hear them , and thanks alot!

Just wanted to chime in and say I've been suffering from the same problem too. I've had around 40 water per day for two days and then all of a sudden nothing. If it helps I looked at my map once and saw that sanctuary had 2 settlers and glitches out. But afterwards it was normal again. I've fat travelled to other locations after walking out of the bridge in sanctuary and I've slept and waited for 48 hours but I still have the same problem. I guess this is just another glitch.

for some people removing all "aid" items from the workshop, fixed the issue

sadly for me it didnt , you can try that maybe you will get lucky :)

the way i could have another batch of water spawning was starting a completly new game and playing until sanctuary, then setting up water supply , waiting abit and it spawned

but i would rather spawn the purifed water in via console then starting from scratch just for that, but its really discouraging , cause i was sooo happy about the renewable resources

and now i dont have them :(

I think I have a permanent solution to this problem.

I tried taking everything out of the workshop and putting it back in, didn't work.

I tried adding/removing structures and wires, didn't work.

Then I imagined a "ghost" stack of water that cannot be moved, removed, or seen. To make it visible, I should only have to ADD more purified water to the workshop than the estimated missing stack and theoretically, any "ghost" water should then become tangible. I test the theory and SUCCESS.

1. Add a stack of purified water to the workshop GREATER THAN the stack that should be present.

2. Remove ALL items from workshop.

3. Save/Quit to main menu.

4. Load save, replace desired items into the workshop (not water).

5. Problem solved. An in-game day later, my water was flowing at full speed.

I had been struggling with this bug for a few days and looked to this forum for a solution. I truly hope this method works for others. The Save/Quit was just for my own obsessive reasons and might not be necessary.
