NickJones
Sorry to say this, but it sounds like you need to do a total reinstallation. :( Hope you kept the downloaded patches.
ArtKing1239
If the render screen is grey, you haven't loaded morrowind .esm. Go to File>Data Files, and check Morrowind. esm. Load it up, and creat a new interior cell. Furnish your home, and work on the outside, as per the other's instructions.
NickJones
Try clicking the "fog" button on the top left menu bar and see if anything happens.

thanateros
ok i think i know what your problem is, and it's a really small step that the first couple of times i overlooked. basically i tried every way possible i could to get stuck on the render screen to see if i can figure out your problem and here's something you might wanna try...assuming this is an interior cell of course. the tutorial that is given with the CS doesn't emphasize this very well so i'm going to try and do it for you. once you open up the world/interior cell/new screen and name your cell click apply and keep that window open. name it something that you know you will be able to find easily such as MY DUNGEON or something like that. now in the cell view window scroll down until you find you cell and double click on it. this activates your cell as the one in the render window. if you look to the right you'll see that there are no objects in the window. goto static and drag some sample objects into the render screen and you should be able to see them. if you knew this already then maybe someon who didn't might get informed. if this still doesn't fix your problem then i'm sure i'll think of something. shiva7663
On another forum, I saw the Grey Render Window problem listed as possibly due to an nVidia TNT2 video card incompatibility; it might be related to the Tribunal superfog problem.
