Creating Sounds (.wav)

Hey there! I recently tried replacing some weapon sounds with my own, replacing the .wav files with the similar names. I tried this with the Hunting Rifle, and downloaded a sound pack which gave me the directory for the weapon.

E:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Sound\FX\WPN\riflehuntinga

So, what I basically did was downloading a clip I liked and converted it to .wav, then renamed it to the appropriate name. I realized there were multiple variations of this sound, so I did the same with every file:

wpn_rifle_huntinga_fire_mod50cal_player_01.wav

wpn_rifle_huntinga_fire_player_01a.wav

wpn_rifle_huntinga_fire_silenced_player_01.wav

wpn_rifle_huntinga_fire_silenced_player_02.wav

However, when I tried to shoot the weapon in-game, I did not hear anything except a very faint version of the regular weapon sound (or just echoes), I guess. What did I do wrong?

The first thing is to be sure that, if you plan to share, there's no copyrighted material.

If that is settle, you should compare the original .Wav with yours (is it 8 bit, 16 bit, 32 bit, mono/stereo, sample rate?, Metadata?, etc) and make yours exactly the same format.

Thanks! I didn't really plan to share it. I'll see about the format, think that's where I went wrong when converting it in Sony Vegas. Expect a reply soon!
