Which Video card is better

I have been thinking of upgrading my PC for a while now, so that it can actually run Oblivion well, to do this I am considering purchasing a new video card. From the following, could you give me an idea of what is important in a video card, and the better cards to buy. Oh, and also if they will work with Oblivion as I am unsure whether they are included in the "NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card." By the way, I have been told only to go with Nvidia cards on my setup by a rather knowledgeable friend of mine, so, while I would appreciate advice on ATI Radeons, I would prefer Nvidia. Also, I am a resident of Australia, so could you define which currency you are basing the prices of other suggestions on, or preferably a rough estimate into AUD, which are worth about 83.5 USD.

Well im assuming you can afford both ;) so looking at the details you've posted i would say that the 7600 is the better card, though i see no reason why either wouldn't play Oblivion well. I cant say if either are included in the 'NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series or higher' category, namely because it doesn't look like either are geforce cards.
