Mods to make running the settlements easier.

1. A way to tell who is assigned to what task. Possibly a label that appears in the Build Mode when you mouse over: "Guard", "Farmer", "Unassigned", and which Shop or Station they may be assigned to. Better yet when an assignment is made, they get a label that also shows in the assignment item, i.e. If assigned to farming, the plants being cared for show Settler 1 on mouseover; and the assigned settler shows: Settler 1: Farmer,

2. A way to better tell who covers what plants. Possibly an AOE marker rather than just a plant assignment, Or upon targeting a plant, a coverage area appears, and an assign yes/no box appears. If no, a new assignment can be made without having to go back to the settler and starting over.

3. A way to assign people to building maintenance, and they actually improve the appearance of the building.

4. A way to salvage standing/pre-existing buildings, or at least remodel or repair them.

5. Roofs that actually look solid, and will keep out the rain.

6. An easy way to put a porch or walkway outside a second floor wall. Ideally a braced special quarter sized piece, with or without a railing.

I'll add to that list exterior inside corner walls with over-hangs or room extensions which will mate with wood and metal over-hang walls or prefabs.

You currently cannot use room extensions, walls with over-hangs, and prefabs with extensions to meet at inside corners. There are 'parts' to allow that form of design.

I would like to see paths and walkways on the ground, be they dirt, gravel, paved, wood planks, or metal. Just some way to improve or hide the ugly cracked roads, and add some semblance of a civilized society.

I tend to use the raised floor. Admittedly, it's not ideal but certainly functional.

Cool, I hadn't considered that. It's certainly not a 100% solution, but I'll give it a try for now.
