FO4Edit Weapon Values?

It's really weird.
I found the numbers on the Standard Barrel for the Gauss Rifle and I can now tweak the values and see them represented in the game.
But there are multiple hex values that can affect a certain stat and all of them behave oddly.

Let's use range as an example.
This is the section I thinks corresponds to the different field regarding range.
I've highlighted the values that I found to affect the range stat.
CD CC CC 3D 00 00 00 00
00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
01 00 00 00 03 00 00 00
00 00 70 41 00 00 00 00
00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00

01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00

If I increase 70 to 71, the range increases by 1. But if I increase it by 64 (from 70 to B0), the range went up by 84.
If I increase 41 to 42, the range goes up by nearly a thousand.
If I increase 02 to 03, the range increased by 96, if memory serves me right.

I think range is a collection of variables determining a multitude of effects regarding weapon performance.
I also fiddled a little with weight and value and they behaved even more oddly. I minor increase in a number turned my Gauss Rifle into something resembling gold, diamonds, love, kittens and cake all rolled into one. The value number was quite long, I even managed to hit the usual integer bottom of -2147483647

I'm not sure I am going to spend more time on this as I have no idea what effects it might have in game, since the values for the stats are more complicated than the values for armor and damage on base items.

so if that is the case, did you get any weird issues while editing those values.....

It seemed fine, even when I was fiddling with numbers that went out of bounds. No crash or anything.
There is little control over the numbers, as I wrote in the examples of my tinkering. The numbers are entangled in something and very sensitive. So it's hard to predict the outcome of changes without further study.
I increased one of the hex values for weight by 1 and the in-game weight decreased by 5.5...

I wanted to increase the range of my Gauss Rifle, which was why I started on all of this in the first place. Seemed weird that my Assault Rifle was on par with a railgun in terms of range...
I ended up increasing the value that corresponds to 70 in my previous post for the shielded barrel. But it gained less range per number than with the standard barrel. So I had to increase it to more than B0.

I will play later tonight, when they construction dudes on the other side of my wall are either dead or gone... *grumble grumble* then I'll get to try it out on live targets at a range.

EDIT: Scratch that! I remember how pissed I was that one combat armor leg was heavier than the other! At least I got that fixed ^_^

The new version of TES5Edit (renamed FO4Edit) 3.1.3 can interpret the values correctly under the weapon modifications.

They're a set of floats that each work a little differently.

With the new version, changing weapon stats should be no problem.

Does the range attribute show?
