New to Oblivion

Hey there folks. I am new to Oblivion, but not to skyrim. However I've pretty much given up on trying to get Skyrim to work on my system, which is low end sadly.

I have a 1 core processor, and a 1 gig of video ram card. Apparently I am getting 30-40 FPS with Oblivion.

I took a look at Mythic Dawn, but i have no way of running anything that they suggest obviously, and i know the game is pretty much out of date, though i see people are still attempting to make mods for Oblivion. I am just curious, what I can do to make my game semi-decent from the "vanilla" version. Improved Textures perhaps. Patches, Texture updates etc.. Anything to help spruce up the default game.

So thank you for taking the time to consider this request. I will be doing some searches of my own though, just want some help on what would be the most "Suggested" things out there to try.

You might want to have a look at Darn UI and Oblivion Stutter Remover. An overhaul mod greatly improves gameplay, but not sure if it would impact performance too much on your system. I wouldn't bother with texture replacers if your system is low end.

I myself use OBMM to install Darn UI. NMM isn't really recommended for oblivion.
