Hitchslapped Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Is it possible to raise the stats beyond 10? For example if your charisma is already at 10 and you're wearing a plus 2 dress.
LordGrievous Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Yeah. Bobbleheads will increase base stats to 11. Other temporary buffs can raise them far above that. I grabbed some legendary +int armor pieces, the night person perk, 11 base int, and some orange mentats. Gave me 23 int. There's no amount of stuff you can stack that will cause you to hit a cap, as far as I can tell. Your base stats can only be trained up to 10, however.
Puddycat Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Oh i have a question related to this too, and sorry to hijack your thread but you have been answered and it is related ;) So say i had perception at level 6, found the bobblehead to get it to 7. Can i then still put points into if from levelling to get it to 11? Or will only the bobblehead take it over 10?

Reportedly, unlike the Bobble heads, the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. book in Shaun's room will NOT take you above 10, however, enabling you to use it right away. =^[.]^=

Vagrant0 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 To my knowledge, the game only uses stats up to 10 to determine anything. Stats above 10 are ignored.
LordGrievous Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Perks only go up to 10. Derived statistics like xp gain, VATS accuracy, sneaking ability, persuasion chance, crit build rate, carry weight, AP, etc. all scale with specials past 10.

I don't really consider it cheating, cause i would have been able to get it to 11 if i hadn't picked up the bobblehead too soon :smile: Edited November 25, 2015 by Puddycat
