sherameyn
Having stumbled into the game from day 1, I cornered myself in some pretty stupid situations building-wise with settlements. While these things are repairable (either by yourself -- me in this case -- or by currently and already existing mods), I have yet to find out how to reset the routes. Is there an ingame command that I missed? Some hidden feature?Or any commands I can run in a batfile?Or is it even possible to have a call-them-back mod... Because, well, I can just boss them around when they are in a settlement... and I know they tend to take the short route and swim through radiating water!I've seen it, I swear! jet4571
Why would you even need to reset trade routes? Serious question too. As for pathfinding, yeah they just do what they want and go whatever way they want. It's not as amusing as rabbits in Skyrim though. You can sometimes find them under water doing whatever rabbits do until it sees you.
sherameyn
Because I made the mistake of sending out settlers from one location only and having like 5 settlers going "rogue" as provisioners. From what I can tell, they still occupy a bed in their home settlement, so I have like... uhm, the 5 original characters in Sanctuary, 5 settlers pulling the weight and the rest is roaming the commonwealth. If I had been smart, I would have done it completely different. Hm, how about tracing those NPC via their occupation name? Could that be possible? That could even be used in a Settler-Interface, hmmm
neonie
Try setting out a chair and waiting until around 10ish and 6ish to 10ish? I'm not sure the exact times but basically every morning and every night the Couriers return and leave depending on what settlement their from and which one you told them to go to. Just wait an hour and see if they show up. You're going to have to find out where the "Entrance" or "Exit" to your settlement is though.
jet4571
Augh, I can see how that could be problematic, I always set one to trade between settlements at first with each settlement and called it good later when there were many unassigned I would set another so there were two provisioners per settlement. 5 out of 1 settlement could be the difference of having enough food or not. Bethesda really did fubar the settlement system across all systems. I just got a settlement on a peninsula where half the border was ocean.... I can only use the water pump for a water source even though not more than 10 feet from the back wall of the house is an ocean. Prime spot to use the largest water purifier and yet there's that nice green border making me use the worst one 10 times. I don't think they were thinking too much when they implemented the settlement system.
sherameyn
Thanks neonie, that is a very good suggestion :)I have indeed been able to hunt down some of those "rogue suppliers" by waiting, but the supply routes where short. I am getting to the longer ones now. Jet:Exactly. It's like they thought "Hey, it's a nice idea, but we don't want to become The Sims"... they just didn't imagine that we would jump right at it. Or maybe they implemented it knowing it needs work, but it would take longer than the promised release date (which is probably the more logical explanation). Take Graygarden, same problem. Even though you did the quest.Or the airport. You can't even drop some food there.Or the castle. Yes, plenty access to everything, but why the hell is the size-allowance so small? You have soooooooooooooo much space to build, yet the allowance seems ridiculously small. And no, I am not through yet, I don't know if there will be any perks that are yet to come... even though I doubt it. I just hate time-sinks. The day has not enough hours to play Fallout 4 the way it deserves!
