I looked at other downloaded textures and each had a blue and a colour one how do you get the one in colour I am using DD converter 2 And if you make a mod and want to add a file to a book do you type it like this C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures\??????\????.dds or Data\Textures\??????\????.dds or what please help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I use GIMP. Easy for conversions, and you can edit the pics as well. Also there seems to be a certain texture file for each one that is blue. Dont know about that though. Why are they blue?Each color channel in the bitmap (red, green and blue) corresponds to a spatial dimension (X, Y and Z).So, since Z displacements are the most common (at least in Oblivion's assets), most of the normal maps will be blue. As for what path format you are supposed to use, I think it's path relative to the \Data folder. Check an existing book that includes a texture, for instance the Gray Fox wanted posters.
