NanakoMagojiro
I found a fun mod yesterday that changes some ingame flags to the national socialist swastika. There were lots of comments on it, including a few screaming about how evil the author was, and more than one comment that stated a moderator had already reviewed it and wouldn't be taking down such things. There was also a comment mentioning that the author had reuploaded it to clear the comments on it previously Today, the mod is gone. Was it taken down by the author, or by site staff? What is the nexus policy on such things?
Zaldir
The mod was taken down due to the author being banned. We don't usually remove the mods a banned user has uploaded (unless requested), but in this case, there was a link between the uploaded content and the reason for the ban. And yes, as per now, we allow such controversial content, granted it is not uploaded with the intent of inciting hatred or racism.
Oubliette
You're asking a lot of questions. To my knowledge the Nexus does not discriminate on a mod file because it's controversial, so long as it isn't openly hostile in it's intent towards anyone in RL. There are several "kill the kids" mods for example that take away the immersion breaking immortality of children in games that Nexus hosts, for example. However whenever you get a mod that spews nasty language at any race, gender, sexual orientation or religion in it's description or content you'll almost always see those taken down. Now the mod you mention I can't specifically tell you what happened as I didn't see it and your description is somewhat lacking. Who removed it doesn't really matter but my guess as to why would probably be because of those comments; the author could have become too upset by them and removed it themselves, the modder could have been upset enough to respond in kind, getting themselves warned or banned and asking the staff to remove the file because of that. edit - Zaldiir beat me to it. This doesn't quite seem to fitWhy not just ask him to change his name? I was thinking of making an SS officer uniform in future, but it doesn't seem like a good idea from this case. ShinraStrife
It's like people ignore the search function and the terms of service these days. Please stop making copyright and inappropriate content threads. If you have to ask "will my mod possibly be taken down" then chances are it will. It was clear to us that he was in fact a "white supremacist", and simply put, we do not tolerate racism or hatespeech here.
