PieXags
Alright, this is something that's been bugging me for quite a long while. I did a search and found nothing, hopefully I'm not beating a dead horse with this. I'm not sure if it can be fixed or not, but I figured I'd sign in and toss the idea out there incase it might be possible to get it done. I noticed that the headgear in-game usually changes the size and shape of it's mesh a little bit to fit more realistically on your character's head. You make a character and let's say you pick up a mythic dawn hood. You wear it and it hangs nicely around your features in a relatively realistic manner respective to the size of your characters cranium. Well...I noticed that as soon as I became a vampire, all the headgear in the game stopped doing that, resulting in some pretty stupid looking hoods and helmets. I can only assume that for some reason, in this instance, it reverts to the "normal" mesh for the model, and does not do that nice "make it not look like crap on my character" thing. I have no idea why, and no idea how to fix it. I noticed that the same thing can happen regardless as to whether or not you're a vampire if you're using some headgear from a mod. Would it be possible to release a mod or a..."fix" so that, even when the player was a vampire, his hoods and other headgear still appeared as nicely as they did when you weren't? ...as opposed to having a huge, mostly empty, stiff-looking hood on what would otherwise be a badass character. Cheers.
PieXags
I went ahead and made a couple comparison screens so that people can see what I'm talking about: http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/PieXags/nohoodcomp.jpghttp://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c192/PieXags/hoodcomp.jpg That's my main character, non-vampiric and vampiric. As you can see, as soon as I become a vampire and wear a hood, it "poofs out" to a default mesh as opposed to taking a shape relative to my character's head. It isn't as clear in these screenshots, but in-game it's very apparent that your hood is much larger than it should be, and it annoys the hell out of me. It does something similar with any headgear in the game. It's not cool wearing a helmet and being able to tell that almost all of it's empty, not close to the size or shape of your character's head in any way... (Oh, I'd also like to note that, yes, my main character is of a custom race --- the Mystic Elf race that comes with the beautiful people mod I think. However, it makes no difference whether you're a Breton, Mystic Elf, Imperial, etc. It still screws up the shape of the headgear as soon as you become a vampire.) I have seen the same thing occur with some custom hoods in some mods, but in those instances it would revert to what I assume is the default mesh shape whether or not I was a vampire. As a side note, I notice that it is POSSIBLE to get the decent hood shape as a vampire --- IF you have a mod that will say...allow you to toggle your vampirism. You can put the hood on when you don't have your "vampire" nature turned on, don the hood, and then cast your spell that will "reveal" your vampiric nature and the hood mesh will not poof out. But if you try to put it on while you're vampiric nature is "revealed", then it appears stiff and empty and such. ...being that I don't use the vampire toggle mod anymore, it would be good to find a way that would allow me to wear my hoods and headgear as a vampire without them looking bad. I've spent an incredible amount of time over the span of many different characters just to be able to generate the faces I wanted, it's kinda disappointing after having accomplished that to have headgear screw up my look... ...hopefully that explains it pretty thoroughly. Surely there's some script edit or variable change that will get it working...? I hope...
