Wozzle90
Hello, I've played Oblivion to death on the 360 and, now that I have a decent gaming rig, decided to purchase it on Steam today. Woohoo, right? Well, no. Much to my dismay, whenever a 1 on 1 conversation is initiated (I discovered this when Uriel speaks with you in your cell) there is no sound. Nothing. I can hear ambient conversations just fine (the Dark Elf mocking me in the very beggining, for example) but as soon I a speak directly to someone there is nothing. It's very frustrating and take a lot out of the game. I didn't have any mods installed but now I have the Unofficial Oblivion Patch installed which didn't fix it. Any ideas? I can't wait to get back into Oblivion with tons of awesome mods to add a lot of life to an already awesome game, but I can't play it like this! It's too depressing! Thanks for any and all help! [Edit] There is also no sound played for the lockpick screen. Odd. [second Edit] I think I've solved the problem! I turned off surround sound on my G90 headset and boom! I can hear Patrick Stewart's sexy voice clear as day! Feel free to delete this topic. Edited April 10, 2011 by Wozzle90
Wozzle90
Now that I've played a bit more, I think it might have something to do with positioning. I noticed something about sounds being played from the wrong position for doors in the UOP notes. I wonder if something similiar isn't happening here. I only say that because I've noticed the volume is kinda wonky when I walk near people speaking.
