Luminair
Old Bethesda would have allowed you to open the secret door in Kellog's house at ANY time. Right now, the button is literally not there for me, because I arrived early. It's not spawned into the level until you complete the prerequisite quests. So my request is a mod (which I view as a bug fix) which will allow you to open the secret door at any time. To work with the lore, we could have Valentine spawn behind you and say in text something like "I couldn't help but notice your snooping...", and then all the prerequisite quests are skipped like they never existed. Thanks for reading :) Edited November 27, 2015 by Luminair
Luminair
Additionally: When you go to the Fort BEFORE you get the quest to kill Kellogg, everything is the same (his synth lackeys are all there), but Kellogg is not. Then when you get the quest to kill Kellogg, the whole level respawns and you must do it all over again. The fix: Spawn Kellogg at the start of the game, and if you happen to go there and kill him early, begin the main quest there, when the brotherhood shows up and you need to go to diamond city to investigate Kellogg's life and death. Wolfy6266
Wow, I'm surprised there is still nothing like this. Bethesda set up the game so that upon finding Diamond City, The mayor seems suspicious, related to something with synths and the institute.Bethesda set up the game so that guards and stuff mention stuff about the office.Bethesda set up the game so that upon approaching the office, the secretary mentions something about a strange apartment.Go in, and there's nothing. Dogmeat barks at the secret room and the exterior is clearly larger than what we're seeing inside, and yet there is nada.Okay, guess I'll follow the quest markers to help me find my son. Better go check out that investigator I heard about AFTER I GOT THE KEY TO KELLOGS ROOM.I do the quests with some creepy robot because perhaps the famed, "professional" private investigator will shine some light on the world that I still know little aboutWe end up in the same room I was in at level 8, and there's suddenly a button in the exact place I remember checking....oh.okay. This should have been in the initial game and should be considered a bug.
