red_avatar
This is something I really like in free-form games: the option to add custom notes to the map. In Baldur's Gate I would litter the map with notes and with Oblivion being even more open and there being a lot of interesting spots that are not being marked on the map, I thought it would make for a cool mod to be able to create "flags". For example, I discovered a guy selling lock picks outside the city but there's a good chance I'll forget where exactly he is by the time I'm 5 hours in the game. Planting a flag on the spot where you stand would be nice - with custom info to be tied to it of course. I'm actually surprised there's no mod like this yet - or none that I could find after extensive searches anyway. I found a way to "mark" spots but that's not the same. All those landmark things are manually placed in the CS. I am fairly sure that these cannot be added, or changed via any scripting. You may be able to move them using a scripted spell, but that has limited uses when you can't rename it, and would only be able to use as many markers as the spell allows before you start having to forget one spot in favor of another. But even this much may not be possible simply do to how the game handles them.
Povuholo
Map Markers You can set several different markers (look at the screenshots), and each marker type has a different name to explain what it is. You won't be able to type in a custom name though. Of course you can also place a mark on your map with shift+left mouse click. This makes a blue compass arrow appear. You can only have one at a time though.

I just find marking things on my map helps me keep "focus" on the game - last time I played Oblivion I gave up because I was bombarded with quests and had no way of keeping track of where I found who or what. I expected a map note mod to be released soon but if it's not possible ... Is there a way to find the coordinates of your character though? A console command perhaps? Then I could just write down the coordinates and draw a map in Photoshop with general coordinates of the areas so I can at least have an idea of where everything is. I too would love to have the extension to the Map Markers mod so that I can keep track of places visited and see it on my map rather than having to run up to the place and see if I have left a "post". I downloaded "mapacyrodiilv1.5.rar" thinking I could make notes on this for offline viewing but I can't seem to get the map to scroll. It should mark all the ruins, caves, stones etc. but I can't seem to properly open it. Any idea if there is a "journal type map" which even if it is run from your desktop, you can mark places or make notes so that when you go back in to the game you have checked your notes for a given area and then when you see that place on the ingame map, you know what you want to do? thanks modders, you are all wonderful!
