Anyone figured out how to attach the flashlight to other helmets?

Dont if anyone else noticed but the combat helmet model obviously has a flashlight but it doesnt work. Would also be useful to have this on whatevers your preferred headgear, without having to use the mod that turns the pipboy light into the flashlight. Kinda immersion breaking for me. Would be nice to have it on the combat helmet by default though and on other stuff as a mod to install. But yeah anyone figured how to do that?

Sounds like something for the creation kit unfortunately, Id like to see the flashlight on the helm too

 

 

Well as far as just giving it to a helmet(not making it a mod) the case should be just adding a property, which fo4edit already can do, but has anyone discovered that property? Or in the case that Im absolutely wrong, someone correct me.

The combat helmet? Can you post a picture?

I assume you're not referring to the army helmet. I may be able to help you with this if I know which helmet it is (what ID)

I did an experiment and attached the light also to another hat (chef hat lol) and it works fine, BUT the lightsource is in an odd spot (presumably where the mining light is meant to be) and shows up jarringly in third person as well as occasionally in first person. I'm guessing the mining hat model normally hides this so some experimenting would be in order. Possibly an additional light could be added, but I'm somewhat dubious of this without scripting.

Maybe try with the power armor light as its not centered. The flashlight on the combat helmet is not centered as well, also it does have a flashlight in the model so it might cover any inconsistencies. Or is there just one directional light for both power armor and the mining helmet. Id check myself, but havent had the time to mess with fo4edit because of work and s***.
