TheJuddernaut
[solved] I tried following the directions in Gopher's guide to enabling mods in Fallout 4 here But I encountered 2 problems that (that I know of) 1.) In the file Fallout4Prefs.ini, I don't have a section called [Launcher] for me to add anything to. It just ends at [LOD], and there's nothing after that. 2.) I don't have a file called Fallout4.ini. I DO have a file called Fallout4_Default.ini, which seems to look exactly like the Fallout4.ini from Gopher's video, but editing it didn't seem to do anything. I'm running on Windows 10, and using Notepad++. Any suggestions? Edited November 29, 2015 by TheJuddernaut

TheJuddernaut
Thanks ephemera, I will try that. What about the missing Fallout4.ini file?Would it work to copy Fallout4_Default.ini and rename the copy Fallout4.ini? bben46
Did you start the game using the steam launcher the first time? It needs that to create the ini file as the ini is based on your hardware so the game MUST be started the first time using the steam launcher and NO mods. After starting, make a save right away and quit the game. Then add mods.
TheJuddernaut
Yeah I launched with Steam the first several times before trying to add mods. I think I figured out the issue, though. I usually keep all my steam games in my E: drive, but somehow part of the Fallout 4 files wound up on my C: drive. I couldn't find Fallout4.ini because it wasn't on the drive. Not sure why that happened since all the other Fallout 4 files are on my E: drive where they belong, but I applied the edits and everything seems to be working now. Thanks for the tips! Fl0W
you could also just use this tool http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2772The tool creates all ini entry's automatically. The Fallout4Launcher.exe should create the files in "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Fallout4", so make sure to run the game launcher at least once, before trying to add the ini changes. dylzolo
I've been reading around and from my knowledge it has something to do with the most recent update. I haven't been able to use any of my mods since I updated my nexus mod manager even with manual installs. Every work around I've tried hasn't work. anyone know how to get mods working again? Specifically texture replaces.
