LuxDragon
Any chance anyone out there can make the Robotics Expert perk handle like a remote control of about 10 meters or so instead of going into pickpocket range to try to hack a robot? Cause chances are likely you're gonna get caught by either the robot itself, or the guys surrounding the robot, making what could be an awesome chaotic perk, kinda lame. terryhauck
The new GECK will probably be required... Also:1) It would be nice if the 'hacker perk' and not the robotics perk allowed you to hack the robots giving you full control of them without any perk requirement after they are hacked. a) the hack level of the robots would be harder with the more powerful robots b) the hacker perk would be more worthwhile c) Perform hack remotely from Pip-Boy with the mini-game2) Ensure that the robots follow you in fast travel and don't get lost3) Limit how many robots you can control with your pip-boy a) based on the level of your Robotics Perk4) Make it possible to repair and add upgrades to your robot based on the levels of the robotics perk a) Maybe have the robot stand next to a power armor station and install items and upgrade the items with the station Balancing considerations:1) The minigame would prevent a person from just going in, Without Any Effort, demolishing a group of robots remotely. 2) The number limit would prevent building a massive army and would work well with settlement mods that allow you to build robots and makes it easier to manage your robots since you would have less companion managing to do.3) The ablity to upgrade your robots is just cool and it balances well with the robot limit4) The ablity of these robots to carry your loot should be really low and included as part of the upgrade options. This would allow the creation of a whole new character build. The player would be required to invest in Hacker, Robotics Perk, Scrapper(For more materials for upgrades and repairs), and Science (For upgrades), Nuclear Physisst (Power the sentry with fusion Cores and for specific upgrades) The cost of spending more points on these perks will balance the benefits of having a fully upgraded robotic companion.
