Magick mods

What are, in your opinions, some of the better magick altering mods? I've played around with some of the more well known ones, like mighty magicka, but I have not found one that make magick use more interesting without breaking the balance of the game (although I need OOO to put balance in the game anyway).

Alot of that depends on what you considder balance. Personally I have made settings that increase combat damage and lower health to shorten battles and require more deliberate actions to kill things before they kill you. For me, the whole concept where you go smacking at something with a battle axe 20 times before it even whimpers just seemed wrong. With this definition, mighty magicka works pretty well as it allows spells to be just as deadly (sometimes rightly more so) than weapons, without breaking too many of the rules as costs and requirements are higher.

Mighty Magick was a little too overpowered for my taste. I was able to kill the guard in Claudius Arcadia's house (The type of guard that has the unplayable armor, I forgot what it's called) at level one with the beginner spells.

I'm going to try this mod soon, as well as as the three magic tweak mods by Riklund (Educational Magicka, Improved Willpower, and More Potent Magic)
