Citre
How does one use alpha in a DDS? I see for instance the pip-boy labels have a transparent background but when I open it in photoshop it loses the transparency?
ShinraStrife
Alpha is one of the 4 channels stored in the dds. Usually it goes RGBA. I only use Photoshop for bmp to dds conversion so idk how to set a color to alpha in PS but in gimp you could always select the parts that need to be transparent then use the color to alpha option
Danneyo
Next to layers, there should be a channels tab.
badilator
If the nif mesh file does not contain a NiAlphaProperty node natively, if you add alpha to a texture you will not see it transparent in game even if you see it transparent in photoshop.
