Marcus Wolfe Posted April 30, 2007 Share Posted April 30, 2007 I've just gotten off Soul Caliber II. I watched samurai and ninja fight. I want Oblivion to look more like that.Nothing big, just change the attack/block animations (especially sword and hand to hand), give fighters some stances, other cool stuff. We have mods that give us samurai/ninja weapons and armor, so why not a mod that lets us fight like them? This might be complicated, but it's possible. This could, of course, be quest induced, to make it easier to choose between following the samurai's Bushido learning Kendo (swords) and karate/judo (hand to hand), or following the ninja's way learn ninjitsu (hand to hand) and using various ninja weapons, like smoke bombs and chainblades. I am 5th kyu in Shotokhan Karate. I may be able to offer some insight, but other than that, Google and Wikipedia. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ninjitsu it a common name for it, but it's really called ninjutsu.Secondly, from what I hear, new animations are very difficult. Don't count on this being made. If you wait, chris 07 is working on a mod that will incorporate samurai and ninja. You will be able to choose if you want to follow the samurai, or the ninja. Septim741 and I are helping him. Second, thanks for informing me of this soon to be mod, but Third, why would there be no new animations? Being a samurai is not about the armor, samuari sometimes fought in very little when they were caught off guard. I could also say the same about the ninja. It's about having dozens of cool sword/hand moves at your disposal and so many enemies to distribute them on. I guess i sound a little bratty, but I was expecting little more. They aren't the easiest thing to mod, and, like Abramul said, they would replace all the animations. You'd have common bandits pulling off ninja-like moves. There are two ways to become a Samurai. A) Be the child of a Samurai B) Prove yourself on the battlefield so that a Samurai adopts you. Everyone in the family of a Samurai was considered to be a Samurai, regardless of age or gender. Samurai were unlike other soliders, they had to supply their own weapons and armor, but were free from taxes. Samurai worked for the Daimo of their clan, who often was fighting other Daimos. Ninjas would be there for 2 purposes:A)To add a stealth class to balance the Samurai warrior classB)Because the worlds of Ninja and Samurai intertwine, as Ninja were often hired by Samurai for tasks he was to honorable to do himself, such as Assasination, spying and sabotage (those, by the way, should be the 3 main themes of any ninja guild/clan quests you incorporate in your mod. Come to think of it, The Samurai armor seems to be lacking in Heavyness. THe ones we have now are ok, but there needs to be one other kind of Samurai armor. Y'know, the excessively large and glorious one? I've told Marco (From Marco's Samurai armor) To check this post out, and hopefully it should result in a new update of Marco's Samurai armor featuring overly large and glorious armor suits as well as nodachis.
