leftkidney Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 OK so I have been modding games for many years and modded the hell out of Skyrim but that was using the manual method, now I tried the NMM for Fallout 4 and the only things I can gt to work are the enhanced textures and stars but the others I enable them and they just dont work, I even enable them in the plugins section and then I launch the game using the button on the top of NMM and they arent working when the games loads up - then I quit the game and all the plugins are turned off but I just turned them on am I doing something wrong I really dont want to go back to the old manual method, I dont even know if that works I havent tried that yet either any help would be great, thanks for your help
bben46 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 1. There are a couple of lines that must be added into the ini for mods to work - Once again Beth doing what they can to make it difficult for PC playersCheck here: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_InstallationI recommend checking Gopher's tutorial as well. 2. The latest Beth update on steam turns off mods on purpose - it is a beta and they want to be sure it works before allowing mods. If you have opted in for the beta on Steam - turn it off and then run the verify game cache. Of course they don't tell you it will do this before you get the automatic update.
leftkidney Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 I did read that before and did everything except for the validating or verifying the game part you mentioned, after doing that I had to re-edit those .ini files but then it started working I think it was me having it set to beta because I was getting crashes and hoped that would fix it which it seemed to, although I havent had one now so I dont know - also the compas was all glitchy a common thing I guess for ati users and I installed that one fix that changes some file or whatever and now that works great and the game doesent crash when its not the beta version I just did that and everything over again and it looks like its working now, the mods are working so I guess the thing I did wrong was not verifying the game after I turned off the beta feature thanks for the help, sorry if this wasnt a question that should have been asked in a new topic but I did search for a while before posting, I always hate when I post and the fix is something so obvious I feel stupid cuz I mod games and things all the time but it seems like I overlook things once in a while
