Production cycle of settlements?

I have 6 ppl in my settlement, no supply line, 56 water supply (5x water purifier) and after 2 days i have 10 purified water in my workshop.

Either i'm really bad at math or there's something wrong. :o

the water value doesn't actually give you that amount of water. It is instead used just to determine if there is enough for the settlement. Having excess food, water, power, or defense doesn't seem to benefit anything.

Hmm... how come ppl actually build water farm settlements? :o

... saying that they are very lucrative.

 

I'm wondering a little how many purifiers that would actually require. :S

I imagine it has something to do with the supply line mechanics, but not to the degree you're expecting.

 

Unfortunately the majority of what does what with settlements is never explained and there is no documentation.
