Egypt9
I've done some digging around and I've experimented with some mods in order to fufill a goal that I have with an asassin character. I hope that I can recieve some feedback on this goal and possibly give some modders out there something to shoot for. i have an argonian assassin who is quite attached to his DB armor and items. Recently i've noticed that when leveling his items have become less than spectacular and I want them to update themselves. Easy enough with a Leveled Quest patch I got, but it only seems to effect the DB weapons, not the armor. I've found one that does it i think, but you have to enable the patch at certian level increments, capping out at 30. I also wanted my DB armor a bit darker, i found this really nice patch for it called Black Dark Brotherhood Shrouded Armor v2 but it only includes 3 files. If you download it, you can see there are 2 files that are suppose to end up in the textures/armor/darkbrotherhood folder and then some .txt document you are to place in the Data folder. i've tried numerous combinations and i can't find anything that will get it running. Btw, if anyone CAN get this mod running, this would solve 50% percent of my problems. I would love to somehow mix/match mods that would help me meet the following goals. I realize that some of these desires may be truely a wishlist for some modder to take on. if anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction, i would really apreaciate it: -DB styled armor that is darker, as close to the Shrouded Armor v2 as possible- Something that causes the Armor Class of the DB armor to scale up as the player levels -This could be done by using multiple sets of armor that drop via leveld creatures OR - 1 set that levels over time, boring, but hey, rogues arn't fashion queens Enchantments on the armor would ideally be---------------------------------------------------- -Something that also levels with the player OR- The hood and armor comes blank and some kind of feature or patch lets the player apply multiple enchantments to the armor so they can mix and match custom effects for their rogue Optional: Sufferthorn and Shadowhunt level also with the armor, I am willing to use a dwarven dagger if i can get the other goals met, though If anyone knows how to get the DB armor v2 set working, knows the name of a mod that allows the player to apply multiple enchantments to a peice of armor, or is actually willing to take up my book of requests, please reply. Edit: I'm using 1.1.5 so that I can still explote the arrow dup (i know, sue me), thought i should put that in case that is effecting something Little Bit of an update, and I will be posting this on the Shroud v2 forum. I got it to work. Basicly, the ArchiveInvalidation.txt file is an outdated yet still used method of applying retexturings. BUT- this file does some kind of date check or something and well, it is amazingly easy for this type of system to fail. I ended up using OBMM and used their Active Invalidation feature to write directly to the BSA and make the game think those textures had been there all along. Along with the quested items leveled mod i'm using, I'm feeling pretty good i'm still looking for a way to make this DB armor level with me in armorclass or possibly a bland set of DB armor/hood + a system of applying multiple enchantments to an item. I think the multiple enchantments mod, if it exists, would really help the game out because you could create your own Unique items instead of waiting for the game to throw you a bone. It could even be leveled or priced to be fair. Now that I take a look at my assassin, I think I would enjoy having his shield hidden....he really looks goofy having it equipped, but I enjoy the extra AC... I continue my search..... EDIT: Merged your posts. Please edit rather than double posting. Thanks. ^^ - Switch
Sypron
Yeah, There is an easy solution for your main delema. The quest award leveler mod doesn't make new leveled items for quest rewards, it just uses the same ones already in the game, but you want new ones don't you? What I think you should do is download the Elder Scrolls Construction Set (we all have it) and learn a few tutorials. You don't need to spend much time with it to be able to do what i am going to propose. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Main_Page is the best wiki for it you will find. Once you have learnt a bit about the CS try this: Make a new suit of DB armor (just copy the originial) with better stats that you think match your player (whatever level he/she is). Place the armor somewhere for you character to pick-up/steal/kill-something for. Don't worry about making all the little in-between level ups. You won't ever be lvl 5 again after all. If you want later you can just go back and make it more powerful or less. You can easily remove the enchantment on the Shrouded hood, which means you can put your own. Unfortunately the games hard-coded code stuff says that once an item is enchanted you can change that enchantment. You can with the CS, but not ingame. Hope that helps. Also if you want some cool assassin's armor look up Assassin's Creed Armor by Dimitri. Its the best i've seen, and it comes in 3 colors.
SickleYield
The Top of the World House mod has an idol on its fireplace that will raise the level of quest award items to your level, if you want a better Sufferthorn or whatever. The house is on top of White Gold Tower and costs 25000 gold. Just do a search in Houses/Buildings for Top of the World on tessource.net.
Sypron
Quest award leveler does that, but without the need to spend all your pocket money.
