Graiyn
What is the easiest way to get Alistair to like and then love my hero? Just when I make some progress, a decision gets made during a quest and he gets angry or sulky. I figure by level 20, I'm doing something basically wrong in this arena. Suggestions? http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/wallbash.gif ~ Graiyn
Sync182
Alistair is a "nice guy" who is the game's Moral Compass...and who has a wierd sense of humour. ;) If you agree with him, take decisions that generally assist the greater good, and allow him to be funny (even share a laugh or two with him), you should be able to get his approval up. Also, when talking with him, ask him about his past, be nice to/about Duncan, and sympathise with him.
Thandal
And remember that while Big Al will make sarcastic and/or self-deprecating remarks, he always pouts if YOU do. So don't try his own brand of humour on him. He can dish it out, but he can't take it.
Graiyn
Thanks, Thandal. Al got real mad at my hero when Isolde was allowed to give up her life to save her son's. Hammered me 30 pts! And remember that while Big Al will make sarcastic and/or self-deprecating remarks, he always pouts if YOU do. So don't try his own brand of humour on him. Graiyn
I gathered he was assigned that task, but even when my hero shows compassion he is usually unimpressed. VERY difficult to please. What conversation options are you selecting when you have that conversation with him?
chibievil
agree with everything he says, joke with him sometimes, make sure to let the mages live in the tower, so u can do the ritual for connor the most friendly way. and in other conversations when given the options use persuade (i'm not sure if this is relationship wise or your concortion(sp) skill) if hardened make him king, if unhardened make anora queen, also make sure to let Alistair fight Loghain, that way there isn't a long dialog options, and he kills him straightaway
