Why do some people get "Picked non ref AV object" while selecting objects in console while some don't?

He explains why in the comments

I thought everyone could use the markfordelete/disable console command to get rid of the trash. But like the hundred or so comments like yours told me, you actually can't. After some investigating (turning off mods one by one) I found the mod that enables me to select the trash. Oddly enough it's the mod that expands the building area of the red rocket station. And sorry to dissapoint you but this only works for the red rocket station, I didn't know that either.. You can still markfordelete/disable some bushes and stuff in other settlements but not everything like at the red rocket station.

It's been driving me nuts too

Same here, this is driving me insane. I suspect it may have something to do with graphics settings, which (might) have something do with how the world is populated? Either way, this is driving me insane. Would love a solution.

Probably not, because when I first played I used medium settings, last friday I got my new GPU, set everything to High/Ultra and still can't select those s#*! bushes. Only unusual thing about my setup is that I'm playing on unsupported 4:3 monitor. It does appear to be completely random, some people claim that they could select those objects at some point, but now can't, while some (like me) never could.

Was i just talking to myself then?

I've just said why the guy in the video could do it and we can't....he has the mod for Red Rocket that, amongst other things, makes it so you can select all those bits of trash in console.

It clearly has jack s#*! to do with your graphics settings.

And furthermore, the video guy, can ONLY do it at Red Rocket.

So the original question now has no relevance. It's not a case of some people can and some can't....it's a case of some mods make it possible, but only in certain locations.
