Jeinfeld
So i I have tried to follow the guide to enabling mods. " documents/ my games/ fallout4.ini... my problem is that my documents folder doesnt even contain a " my games" or anything that has fallout 4 within it. I cannot find the .ini within the fallout4 folder in my programs either. Is there something im missing? id really like to enjoy the benifits of modding? Im running the windows 10. Not really sure what to do?
DIV1D3
Do you have a second drive? If so check in it's Documents. If you've started up Fallout 4, then there's going to be a "mygames" folder somewhere. Also be sure to enable view of hidden files and folders, it might for some reason be hidden. You can enable this by going into Organise > Folder and Search Options > View > "Show hidden files, folders and drives"

bben46
You need to start the game the first time using the steam launcher. And NO mods. That creates some folders and files as part of it's initialization process. If you have already done this, did you make the mistake of enabling the beta versions in steam? Because the latest beta version disables all mods on purpose. And if you have it enabled, it automatically installs and disables mods without telling you.Simple fix - go into steam and turn off the allow beta. Then run the Steam Verify game cache and it will remove the beta and reload the non beta version. There are several work arounds posted. BUT, if you still have the beta active, the next update to that beta may well disable the mods again. How to enable or disable the Beta participation in SteamClose your game first, then open steamLook in the upper left corner for the 'Steam' tab and click on itIn the drop down menu, click on 'Settings'Under the Account ( should be the default tab) fund Beta Participation. It will tell you if you are participating or notTo change click on the box labled 'Change...'Go to the bottom of that section and click on the OK How to Verify the game Cache in SteamClose your game first, then open SteamOn the Library page, RIGHT click on the game you want to verifyIn the drop down menu, at the bottom click on 'Properties'Select the 'Local Files' tabIn the new window, click on 'Verify Integrity of Game CacheWait as it can take a while.
