Blood texture goes bright white(gloss?) briefly from certain angles...what gives?

Hi there,

I'm new to game texturing(but not photoshop) and learning largely by trial and error, not ideal I know, but its fun. I've read some short guides about different texture files to help get me started. And I've done some search on this error I've encountered, but not knowing the correct terms doesn't help find a solution!

ISSUE:

From certain angles my blood textures appear totally white(see first screenshot), this is most evident during the rain. I'm guessing this is due to it appearing pure gloss for a moment? Tho I could be totally wrong! From most angles they appear as expected(screenshot 2), and in sunlight the effect is much less noticable, sometimes appearing much 'flatter'.

If you can help me identify whats going on here, I would be very grateful

Also, feel free to comment on my textures so far. I have made some improvements since the second image, the gradients/alpha in the decal are much smoother(yay for interpolatedalpha save), with slightly more random pattern giving the effect of pooling/inkyness.

I think you're just seeing the cubemap reflections. I've seen it plenty with regular blood splats and puddles, there's a few really wide highlights that come across. And on a planar surface, there isn't much you can do.

However, I have noticed many artifacts in-game related to view angle. So on the other hand, it could be that.
