Need a bit of a hand finishing a mod

Greetings Nexus forums! I rarely ever post here, since I rarely have a need to. That changed today, as I am trying to build a mod of my very own for the game, but have run into a bit of a snag.

 

My mod ports the Assassin Suit from New Vegas into the game to be sold by Flak and Shrapnel's and Moira Brown. The armor is in the game, the vendors are selling the item, and it doesn't seem to conflict with other mods that add stuff to vendors (since I did that using option 2 under the GECK wiki's tutorial...Just used a quest and script to slip the item in, no big deal). That all works wonderfully, but the issue is when you equip the armor.

 

Regardless of male or female model, the armor clips somewhat through the pipboy and there is a small but fairly noticeable band of solid black around the character's arm just above the pipboy. After asking a few other people, opinions seem to be that it's an issue with the meshes used for the mod but I have no real experience or skill for editing models or meshes myself.

 

Just to assure people, I own a copy of New Vegas and all the DLC. I ported the textures and meshes out of my installation of Dead Money and I do not intend to post this mod anywhere, it's just for my own use. If anyone would be willing to help me correct this issue, I'd be grateful for it!

 

Update: a couple of quick tests revealed an interesting thing: the discoloration on the model only happens in interior cells. I was able to travel all around the game and as long as I was outside, at any time, the only issue was part of the armor clips through the pipboy. If I go inside, there discoloration happens as well.
