KimberJ
Slower than the old way, yes, but about the same amount of work. Seems more accurate for material settings, we'll just have to see how the GECK handles it. Need to unpack material archive, an the mesh archive an others if you use them, it's just more easy to unpack it all an store it if you'll be working with this stuff more often, if not, look it up each time if you want, meshes/textures/materials might be over 28Gb *cough* Here I just needed meshes/materials. To swap some vanilla stuff around. Need nifscope to figure out what meshes are using what textures. Nifscope post http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3477420-nifscope-20-dev-4-133-alpha-texture-pathing-info/ Archive unpack-er or find another one http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/78/? FO4 edit (xEdit Alpha) http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2737/? Material swaps are set on the base item, need a new base if it's not replacing anything vanilla, *burp* Probably need a new form for a material swap, here you can plug in as many of the actual swaps as needed, such as what you find looking in branches in nifscope for all the textures used, copy an paste those out into a notepad file to keep up with it. Once you got the whole asset list, go into materials an look for the swap files, depending, you may have to look in material swaps in the FO4.esm in FO4Edit for hints, or just go look at the unpacked materials folder. Material Editor will open these files which also shows texture paths. If the swap already exists then it's just going to the unpacked materials, clicking them, waiting a sec, clicking again, copy the name, an paste it into the material swap new form you created along with the folder path to it an .filetype There can be many of these so I set them all up folder path wise by draging them down an adding another for each. What's written down in the notepad that was found in the mesh in nifscope hopefully, there's 5 of those so right click an add unknown below the editor id an Fnam unknown, there is just a unknown box, right click an add there 5 times or however many there was (just guessing) If we gota create a new swap .BGSM or whatever, pick one near enough to the original so the materials are kept, switch the texture paths around in it, an save as, renaming it, adding it to the data folder I'm guessing in materials, not sure if it matters yet. Add it to the base item when done, an go in the game an test it, maybe adjust the materials if needed with the material editor ???
