HI all, I need your help! How can I remove the uber-hideous "Pepper effect" on distant landscapes that came with the 1.2 patch? It looks SO horrible, I can't bear myself to play Oblivion now...

At TweakGuides.com I read that removing/renaming the file TerrainNoise.dds should help, but it didn't for me, the pox remains in the game! >:(

Please please help me, it's 5:00 AM in my country now, my eyes are burning, I spent all night searching the Internet, reading various Oblivion guides and forums, looking for a solution, but found none. I know that there is a mod that changes how the Noise effect looks, but I don't want it changed, I want it GONE for good!

Please help... :(

try changing the video quality options at the start window, where you select the data files etc...

I havent tried the 1.2 patch myself, so i do not know what you are talking about

Or you can change the 'view distance' option, which will make so you cant see as far, but you wont have to look at the screwed up land
