LarryDav1d
I've been using Nexus for a good 7 years. In that time I've been banned IP and all twice over relatively minor offenses, the last being the result of an honest mistake. While Nexus is good for mod hosting, it has an absolutely poor customer service policy. You really should implement a more effective interaction policy, rather than outright banning people permanently, often over one offence. Once banned, there is no line of communication. The "unblock request" is a one-shot form that states "You will not be notified if your request is declined" & it states that it will take a random amount of time to be reviewed.I understand that Nexus is basically the only major option for modders outside of Steam "for now", but that shouldn't mean that you treat your customers as "throwaways".I've been involved in many communities on the internet over the years, but Nexus is the only website that I have ever been banned from. While I have burner accounts and can renew IP addresses, it is frustrating to have to start over with a new account yet again, and lose credit and access to the mods I spent my time working on. You are basically discouraging modders.Fact is, without modders and their hard work your website wouldn't be able to exist. But if Nexus didn't exist, modders would still mod. scrivener07
For what its worth actual paying customers seem to have a tiny little bit extra latitude in moderation. On the other hand the rules are crystal clear yet so many people seem compelled to see how far they can bend them. Not accusing you or making assumptions about your specific case but from a moderation standpoint I can see it being difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff because of the shear volume of stupidity. Whats do you expect to gain from making this a public discussion anyway? How do you imagine this discussion playing out in the long run?

LarryDav1d
I stopped being a paying customer after my first account was banned. Fact is, whether you pay or not, you're just a number, and no one would be donating anything if they weren't receiving mods.I expect to gain nothing from this discussion. The point is to make my view known in a civil way. This account will also be banned, as I planned. Edited December 8, 2015 by LarryDav1d
