Mouth of the Serpent-gate

I completed the Lifting of the Vale. I have the Madstone. I’m lingering behind to pick up what I can.

This one I cannot figure out!

Inside the Serpents Halls (this one; Mouth of the Serpent) when you first start, coming in from outside.

Ahead is a 4-way path. To the right is a gate. Nothing comes up when you are near it. Is there a way to get in? I see a chest beyond the rust gate, but no way of opening it. No handles sticking out of the wall.

 

Also, when you first come in, you see those two statues on each side of the wall. The wall is opened where the statues sits. Is there anything up there? I cannot figure on how to get up that high! I tried different potions, and still I cannot jump up that high. I feel like a jumping FOOL!

If I remember correctly, most the hidden nooks can be accessed further in by other paths. If not, don't recall anything particularly special other than the quest rewards. Think everything in those chests is the typical leveled trash, and probably not worth the effort.

But the chests at the exterior of Pale Pass are worth the trouble... If you are patient. :)

Thanks. I got all the chest. I guess those walls just look like there is something up there, most likly not!
