It's pretty big mind f*** add this there add this there, type that. But when you go and try o do that you see there is no such text like guy in video had. What Do? Reinstalled game mmultiple times fresh install, mod's too.Added sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ this where it has to be added. Watched all Gopher videos about how install mod's.I use NMM it says i have active plugin's and active mod's installed. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=1yvl3n&s=9#.Vmgl9Lh97IU http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2rp617d&s=9#.Vmgntrh97IV No mods working only simple batch file's in main game directory god cheat console command's work. But no real game mod's working no matter what i do. I was doing all tutorials over and over again. Literally did everything like Gopher video was shown, tried all kinda other stuff . Struggle is strong 3 week's can't figure out why mod's won't work, even they show that they been installed and active. I just got no more time and strenght to fight with this. Hope Game Devs release somekinda workshop or official mod tool, maybe that will fix this s*** and make installing mods easier. KimberJ
Calm down, yo. I know you expect it to be one thing, but it's not like that. We all got to work to get the mod reward. As hard as it might be on you, it's much harder for people working to make this stuff, an they got the general mod troubleshooting an tech support issues like everyone else. So stay calm, an work steady an slow. If you stole the game it might not work. Not saying you or anyone else did, but it's a fact that people had stolen FO4 an had it working before it downloaded for the people that bought it, LOL. For one thing if it's an illegal copy of any of the games, it's illegal on Nexus to talk about it, an other such topics of piracy. I only mention it as the first solution, if you did steal it, wouldn't make much sense to try to diagnose it here even if we had the same copy, an we wouldn't have that as Nexus members, heh, cause it would void our membership. NMM is the install management tool of choice on PC, even if Bethesda put all it resources into making one for the Beth games, we'd still use NMM, just cause we don't like to change. NMM isn't as comfortable as the old an simple methods, but it's being developed, so I would get comfortable with it. Players use Mod Organizer too but requires different file structure an works differently. That all being said, some of the mods are incompatible with that, but still have the download with manager option. Mods are downloaded with the NMM manager, which is the best way to do it, sooooo nice. That puts them into NMM, but it's gota be activated to work, that runs a FOMOD telling it how to install, or it's set up in the archive to be dropped into the data folder. If it doesn't go in the data folder it's a manual install by mod description. Then some mods are not set up correctly for NMM to install them inside the .rar but they have a "download with manager" button, kind of pesky but we can't change it. Then NMM doesn't work well with very large mods, but the mod's description page would cover that if it's an issue. To begin you would find your steam/steamapps/common/ game folder an find the data folder which is true for all the Bethesda games, create a short cut to the data folder, change the icon to a fallout icon, an then place that on your system drive, on the hotbar or in the windows menu, at least up to Win7, the reason why is in modding we visit the data folder often, for example here you would go there an look, an if there was a bunch of loose folders, you would know your mods were installed, them having a green checkmark in NMM would show that as well. Though NMM has to be set up for the user with various options.

I don't wan't wait so long time until Devs going release oficial workshop or mod tool's. I just wanna enjoy game with mod's, but there is nothing to enjoy almost done every quest. I know it's take time to make mod's adjust them . For shame I couldnt run FNV on my skyrim mod's didn't wort either, and now fallut 4 too. I'm just tired of it. KimberJ
did you check your data folder to see if they were installed? You need admin rights on the computer too most likely. :P

KimberJ
with the load order all activated in NMM, it's main function, little checkboxes an the ability to move each one around to form a proper order, it should work, don't have to set anything read only, an is generally a bad idea with games, you can set game folders all of them to not read only an is a really old rule in modding games, not that it does anything. In the past windows put security risks on anything in program files which caused problems, steam library is okay, but not if that goes into program files, often steam users have multiple steam libraries spread out on their SSD/HDD. A manual check of the load order is in Users/computerorusername/appdata/local/ the game name in either load order or plug ins .txt Pretty sure the plugins.txt is the vanilla one an the other might be added or visa versa, you would look there to see it was actually activated or not. How you launch the game would effect it, the updated version of NMM which would be created in the last 36 hours was patched to cover what the official patch broke, so you could need a update. Also with steam we can change the name of the default launcher so that we added BAK making it a backup copy, then setting the game.exe to teh same name as the default launcher in this case being Fallout4Launcher.exe thus making steam launch it from the little icon in the right of the taskbar an everywhere else that steam would launch it. The script extender comes with a launcher as well, which could be added to the taskbar or start menu even an as a shortcut on the desktop by the users preference, the script extender just patches the game as it launches to accept commands we create to make things happen that otherwise wouldn't or would be hard in the game, virtually no difference, an the default .exe is still launched, so all the same steam stuff works, in all cases if it's a steam game, steam needs to be running, but can run in offline mode depending on preference. I'd write more but I gota go to the store. Hope we can fix your problem, hang in there it's worth it. :D

SharraShimada
Okay, lets see...If you have installed either NMM or FO4 (or both) in program files, thats not working, because windows prevents to write there, so NMM can´t put mods into data folders. Try reinstalling the game somewhere else. If thats not the issue:open four fallout4.ini, look for the line you changend (STRINGS\....) and replace it with bInvalidateOlderFiles=1, then try again. (Backup your .ini, in case you want to revert).
