ProgMath2
Okay. I'm a complete noob at 3d modelling, blender and things. All I've done with meshes before was deleting extra parts or resizing armor to other body type. Now I have this hat. And I want the hood to disappear. The problem is that the hood and the hat is one solid mesh, so I can't just delete a block and be happy.I undertook that:- exported the model to .dae- opened it in Blender and deleted hood's vertices- exported it to .obj and reimported it to Nifscope- added texture property to the block and adjusted materialAnd now I have this: (Blue color is an area of texture that shouldn't appear on model) So, consuming all that rambling: the model has lost it's UV mapping, and now the texture is laying that freaky way. What I am doing wrong? How to do it right? Is there a way to copy UV map from the old healthy mesh to the imported cutted one? Tamira
The newer Nifskope versions from Version 1.1.0-rc7 on do not longer support the import of obj files as the UV is messed up.The last Nifskope version that could handle obj import properly was Version 1.1.0-rc6 Try to export as .3ds file and import this one with Nifskope. Surilindur
What is the relation of NifSkope 2 when it comes to Oblivion stuff? Does it also belong in the category of 'not supporting .obj importing'? Or is it just 1.x versions? I could not find a clear explanation anywhere. I have only done some very basic things with NifSkope overall, so I am not too well-informed when it comes to it. Does version 2 still support Oblivion thingies properly? Because the new version, despite being a WIP, feels a bit better than the older versions (if you can say that way about a prgram). So I have thought about using it if I ever find the time to learn modelling stuff. Would it make any sense? You are listed there as a tester, but is it only related to converting resources for Skyrim, rather than working on Oblivion things? http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/4136-nifskope-20-dev/ Just me being curious when something new is available. And now that this might be distantly related to the matter at hand, I thought about asking, when someone better informed is around. Not trying to derail the thread. Thank you. PS. The bottle home mod is slowly making progress. And I mean slowly. But it is making some progress. Tamira
I have not really worked with Oblivion files for quite a time now (just converted a few) but I strongly recommend to use the new Nifskope version 2.0.X. I cannot imagine to work with Skyrim nifs any longer with the older versions. But the .obj import issue has not been fixed yet!
