Modification List Order

Hello All,

 

Does anyone know if there is a way to sort a list of modifications as I specify? At the moment it seems to be alphabetical and numerical in an odd way in that the first character seems to take precedence for example

I know that in the vanilla mod list order there doesn't seem to be any particular order so there has to be something I am overlooking!

If i add a prefix like A). B). it seems to list as you would expect but I would rather not do this.

To be clear, are you talking about weapon and armor crafting mods? If so, is this in the inventory (on pipboy), or in the crafting interface?

I'm currently trying to figure out in the crafting interfce, and your thread came up in my search. There, it seems at least partially based on the "value" of the mod, but not completely.

(edit2: if somebody sees this looking for the same info I was, they're sorted in the crafting interface by their value found under their misc item entry, not their modification entry)

The only solution I see to your current problem is possibly adding leading zeroes to your numbers. 010, 020, 030, etc. That should sort correctly, but might look silly for your purposes.

Add numbers in alligator brackets before the name. It will be invisible ingame.

For example

<01>Something B

will show up above

<02>Something A

 

Also, be sure to not put a space after the brackets, or else there will be a mysterious space throwing off alignment. And if youre needing large numbers, be sure to do the leading zeroes as mentioned above.

 

And note, this still won't work for the crafting menu sorting, but that doesn't do alphabetical, so I assume it's not what you mean.
