kasparesky
Hello everyone, I'm encountering a weird problem with the space key not working in Fallout 4 console, I have no idea what might have caused this, the key works fine everywhere else as you can see, I can type with no problems inside the OS, and jump works fine inside Fallout 4... I'm truly confused I tried to remember what has changed since this problem occured, so I tried undoing the latest changes.Things I've tried: Disabling mods (.esp's etc.)Disabling ShadowboostDisabling EnboostDisabling ReShadeRemoving compass fix for AMD CrimsonDisabling Shader Cache in Radeon settings This can't be connected to ingame controls can it? Because the console binds have nothing to do with ingame ones right, they're engine bound as far as I know. Anyone has an idea? Any help would be appreciated
SharraShimada
Is it only within the console, or everywhere ingame? Can you jump/use Jetpack?

SharraShimada
Strange.. Do you have the chance, to test it with another keyboard? It may be a problem with windows, and how your keyboard is adressed. If its not a 0815-default-keyboard, there may be an issue. And the console is adressed directly not via the game engine. What keyboard do you use?
kasparesky
Strange.. Do you have the chance, to test it with another keyboard? What keyboard do you use? I have a Corsair K70, I just did a fresh install of Fallout 4, no mods installed, no nothing, as vanilla as it gets and still the same problem. The weird thing is that sometimes when I've just opened the game the key seems to work once, yes 1 time and then nothing, the same is happening to "." key... this is bizzare.. Do you think the patch somehow might be at fault? Because I know for sure I did not have this problem before the official patch came out. Everywhere else the 2 keys work fine, I even opened Skyrim for a test and it works within the console there. I can try getting another keyboard, but I'm pretty sure this is not hardware related. Edit: Ok, I think I've located the issue, it seems Fallout suddenly decided not to like my input language settings in windows, I removed all the languages except EN and now it works :) I still can't figure out why it started happening only recently, I have not changed anything in my input language settings for years, maybe the patch did screw something up, who knows, anyway thank you for your time and help :) Edited December 11, 2015 by kasparesky
SharraShimada
Glad you found a solution ^^.Thats windows... or windows and hardware, not working perfectly by the standards. (or not optimized for windows...).Yes its weird. But all one can do is shaking heads, and go on. Try not to found a reasonable explanation.
