Number Thirteen
My first question is about OBSE. What exactly is OBSE? And how do I go about installing it if I already have SI installed. I've seen threads in different places about crashes and problems installing so I don't want to break anything. I currently have patch 1.2.0201 installed. Advice would be appreciated, thanks. My second question is the same for OBMM, what is it, installation method, etc.
Povuholo
OBSE: Oblivion Script Extender. An external program you run together with Oblivion (you won't notice it) so certain mods can take advantage of scripts that Oblivion itself can't handle. Mods that use OBSE are for example Deadly Reflex, Thieves Arsenal and Spell Delete. Download here and install. If you want to play Oblivion with OBSE on, you'll have to launch it with obse_loader.exe, which will then be in your Oblivion folder. Of course you don't have to use OBSE if you aren't using any mods that require it. OBMM: Oblivion Mod Manager. Allows you to change the load order of your mods, to reduce conflicts. I think there's also an option to automatically load OBSE when starting oblivion in the normal way. But it has more features. Download and install; I think it uses a .exe file. Another useful utility is Wrye Bash. It says what it does there. Make sure you follow the installation instructions. All these utilities are compatible with Shivering Isles and whatever patch.
