Asder0815
Hi, I am using the NexusModManager and everthings was working fine, until now, everything is still working except for modified textures and sounds. Already did a fresh install of everything but did not help. Maybe someone has experienced this before and can help me. Thanks in advance andGreetings,Asder0815
ItsRamza
Check your Data folder for a Fallout4.ini file. For some reason most people don't have one but some people get them, maybe it's from doing beta updates, not sure. Anyway if there is a Fallout4.ini in your data folder it is basically a master ini that has a huge amount of settings in it and will override anything from any other ini file. I just moved mine to another folder for looking at later and suddenly textures and sounds worked. Here is the thread I found this out in.
Hagar25
All mods are working for me except textures, I have made all the recommended .ini changed and still nothing. The texture mods download with no problem but they do not show in the "plugin" tab and do not work in the game at all. Some folks have recommended this: sResourceDataDirsFinal=TEXTURES\, MESHES\, FACEGEN\, INTERFACE\ , MUSIC\, SOUND\, SCRIPTS\, MAXHEIGHTS\, VIS\, GRASS\, STRINGS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, MISC\, SHADERSFX\, PROGRAMS\ Some folks have recommended this: sResourceDataDirsFinal= I have seen this recommendation in the Fallout4Prefs.ini to add this: bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 I have seen recommendations to make these changes in both: C: steam, steamapps, common, fallout4, fallout4_default.ini (me) , documents, mygames, fallout4, fallout4.ini So am I missing something? I pretty much had the exact same problem as you except add sound mods to the list of things that didn't work. Anything that reused assets worked for the most part. Nothing that used custom textures or sounds failed though. After finally finding the post about the master ini file that only some people have for some unclear reason, I checked and found I had it, removed it, and everything worked fine. Check in:C:\Steam\Steamapps\common\fallout4\data\ If you find a Fallout4.ini file here it will be a very large ini full settings. This ini file will override any other ini files you have anywhere else as far as I know. You can either change the values in it, or just move/remove it and the game will default back to using the other ini files as normal. If you don't have this particular ini file then you have a problem somewhere else.
KMA
I have the same issue. Tried every possible combination of the suggested settings to get F4 to use loose files, but it appears that after the latest patch non-ESPs are being blocked. There are no ini files in my data folder, and I have all the appropriate edits (even duplicating Fallout4.ini to Fallout4Custom.ini just to be sure). EDIT - Also bypassing the launcher to start with executable had no effect other than a slightly faster loading time.
