Aliks
Whenever I try to run the patch to go from whatever version is on the disk to 1.2, it doesn't work. It just sits there on 0% for as long as I leave it, and that's it. I think it created some 1.1 gig file once, but nothing seemed to happen. Logged in as an administrator. Windows XP, 512 ram, p4 3ghz. This is kind of a drag. What should I do? How important is 1.2? Could I get 1.1? I think some mods require higher than the out-of-the-box version. Has this happened to anyone else?
Povuholo
How long did you wait? Often it stays on 0% for 15 minutes and then suddenly races to 100%. Unless you are using Shivering Isles, you'll be fine with 1.1 for now. You'll miss out on one of the new features which improves the distant land textures, but besides that not much. I don't know if there are any mods that require 1.2. I know OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) is compatible with every version.
Crisb92
Yeah, mine took a while too. I take it that you have made sure you are using the right patch, I downloaded the wrong one to begin with and had no idea what was wrong until I read the file name, then headed back to elderscrolls.com. Other than Shivering Isles, which you HAVE to have 1.2 for, I don't think there are any mods that 'require' it, which won't work with earlier versions.
