Faction Vertibird MOD and missions. IDEA

I been thinking since i hopped in the vertibird on my mission for the BOS. if the raiders and institute repurpose everything they can get there hands on woulden't it be cool if they had gunships also.

here is my idea. once the GECK comes out of course.

 

CONCEPT: A Personal Vertibird that has two mounted guns one on each side.

You can choose a map location and and the vertibird would fly there and follow a preset pattern. like a "circle left" or a "circle right" command. or even a "Figure eight". The vertibird would fly this pattern till you told it to land or to fly off back home. This would allow you to aggressively suppress a target location before deciding to land.

 

ENEMY VERTIBIRDS: There should also be other vertibirds in the air. Institute and Raider vertibirds that would harass you in flight. more character from opposing factions should have more missile launchers to make it harder.

 

CUSTOMIZATIONS: There should be faction paint jobs for the vertibird you should of course be able to customize your vertibird by completing missions and unlocking paint jobs and other customizations.

such as. Gatling laser, grenade launcher, cryo launcher or gamma laser.

 

You should be able to pick or customize your pilot. Including using your companion.

this may be a little too much but perhaps you might need to train a pilot.

they can only fly and land till they complete 10 successful missions then they can fly circle left pattern. 10 more successful missions, then they can fly circle right or figure eight. 10 more and now they can take off faster or do emergency landings. 10 more now that can in-flight repair.

 

Radio commands. we should hear the pilot speak to the player.

"distance to target"

"approaching landing point"

"approaching target on starboard side"

"commencing circular pattern attack."

damage percentage alerts. "damage at 40 percent, damage at 80 percent"

 

UPGRADES MODS: weapon upgrade mods like the target tracker diamond.

- tracer bullets

- a scope

- circular reticule

- a mod that allows positive targets should light up red and non targets should light up green.

MISSIONS: a series of missions provided by the brotherhood or you can use your vert to help defend your settlements for the minutemen.

you should get xp based on the mission not on the kills. it would just be way too much Xp for cutting down 25 mutants at a pop.

 

MISSIONS: a series of rescue missions where you need to land and pick up settlers and waves of enemy attack them.

it might go like this.

mission to rescue trapped settlers is announced.

you hop in your vert and fly to location. soften the targets. land the vertibird and run out to the settlers with markers on them. you talk to them and there should be an option to board vertibird.

message says "settler is now safe." you run to the next wounded settler. meanwhile your vert is taking hits and they are firing at you also. but the idea is to get all 5 or 10 settlers out before the next wave.

 

MISSIONS: Stop an air raid. three enemy vertibirds are on there way to a settlement Intercept them.

 

You should need to repair your vertibird like the power armor. You lose it, its done! you need to get a new one from the BOS or find a damaged on in the wasteland. Maybe the atomKatz have one.

 

i have no idea how to do any of this at all. but i imagine it would work best with a large combat zone spawning area.

 

personally i think it would be awesome to be able to attack a large skyscraper.

 

just some ideas i was thinking about.
