Tried editing Jet to last shorter, but it won't affect the game, what am I missing?

With chemist, biocommesh etc jet is lasting way too long for most encounters, so I end up never using it. I would like to reduce jet from 10 to 2 base seconds, then use psycho jet instead if I want to stay slow-mo for longer.

 

 

I edited Ingestibe > jet (00036c5) > Effects > EFIT > Duration from 10 to 2 in an .esp, but nothing has changed in-game. Any idea why?

I have mods which remove slow-mo yelling when taking chems, optimize textures, make harness modable, make newsboy cap look like military cap, makes hacking easier and hide "fashionable" sunglasses. They are all working, and I don't see why any of them would interfere with the jet .esp

Although I made some of these mods myself, I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm just happy when things are working. So it could be a pretty rookie mistake.
