AurianaValoria1 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Hi, all! I'm hoping I can get some help and advice from all you experienced DA:I modders. :D I just recently purchased the GOTY edition from Origin and am tentatively looking at modding for the game, but I have some questions and concerns. I've modded the previous two DA games, all three Elder Scrolls games, Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, and more, all with great success, but for some reason, modding DA:I looks downright intimidating to me. :P 1) I noticed that patching can cause issues with modding DA:I. Is it safe to assume that, since the GOTY edition includes everything released thus far and is labeled as the "definitive" version of the game, official patches will no longer be an issue in regards to adding mods? 2) Should I play through the game first without mods (even though I already hate the plastic-looking skin), or go ahead and start modding before I even make the first save? 3) If I do mod the game, where do I even start? I am at a loss as to what I need to do first. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. :)
theskymoves Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Not sure I qualify as 'experienced', but 1 - Yes, in the past new patches played havoc with modded games, but I believe Bioware has indicated that there will be no further patches for DA:I;2- I am of the opinion that one should play through a game 'vanilla' at least once (or, at most, with community bugfixes), but that's really personal preference and certainly not the popular opinion;3- the 'clearinghouse', as it were, for DAI modding seems to be the DAI Modder Central blog, with the sidebar links serving as a good primer for the 'how-to'.
