My thoughts for potential mods

Ok, I have been dissapointed by some of the mods that have been released and have come up with ones that i would make right away if i knew enough of the Construction Set. These are just ideas i think would fit the game better than similar versions already released.

A companion mod idea - Ok, I was thinking it would be good if there was a potential companion in each major city of cyrodill. In taverns for example. A Nord in Bruma who would enjoy traveling with you.

Or an imperial in one of the Inn's in the Imperial City and so on. I was thinking two companions of each race, Male & Female. They would start somewhere between Level 1-5 and level on their own, displaying a popup message saying "Insert Companions name here" Is now level 6"

They would have set classes. like knight, theif, mage etc. so you can determine what gear to give them. They would have nothing but common cloths and maybe an iron weapon or something on them when you first meet. A companion Share option would be brilliant.

Other thoughts - I thought possibly a feature where that if their Level was like 10 or higher they would have services available to you like repair weapons and armor. or recharge enchantments etc.

My last idea for this was to modify the DB murderers and mages that follow you to allow them also be able to level up from their current level and enable companion share with them. (Not sure if Fighters guild has people like that, same with the thieves) But you get what i mean.

Pet Mod Idea - I wasn't happy with mod of the pet mods. So my idea for this was to have a small shop in a few of the cities that sold pups (smaller dogs) That would be Level 1. They would level by them selves and grow bigger, Lv5 between pup and dog size. Lv10 Dog size Lv15 Slightly larger dog. when they level a popup might say "Mojo is now Level 5 and seems to have grown" Or whatever you name your dog.

dogs would probably cost about 800gp for a LV1 Pup and 3500gp for a LV5 dog. so they arn't too easly to obtain right in the beginning as they'll likely be strong enough to be pretty helpful.

Other Thoughts - A town such as Bruma might sell wolves. Which can grow to be slightler bigger than dogs and slightly tougher, but more expensive. Other towns might sell novalty pets such as rats and crabs. (i'd be happy to see a bandit get owned by a LV50 Crab) possibly a pet supplier in the wildeness might sell a Mountain Lion. But they definitly won't be cheap.

These i would enjoy much more than what's avaliable now because They use animals and resources that are already in the game and enhancing things like the rather "Lacking" Companions the guilds give you.

There are already lots of good companion mods out there. Could use more, and i guess more are coming...

Changing the way Oblivion companions such as DB murderers (or most of Bethesda content) work is not realy good moding etiqute as that might conflict with quests etc, Just imagine if someone else makes mod that modifies same stuff... (many do, so thats why so much problems with mod conflicts) unless you take lots of care when doing it , and there is no real reason for it becouse there are better ways to do it.

Look up this guys stuff:

Paul 'Simyaz' Thomson

He has released some of the most brilliant companion/quest mods out there such as

RUINED-TAIL'S TALE (AKA: Ruin Companion MOD)

and 2 (?) more epic mods he has relesed.

There are also other good ones out there, you just have to find them.

There are also animal companion and pet mods out there if you search.

Cheers. HSandman. ;)
