TotallyNotToastyFresh
Hey guys, I had a nice idea for a mod the other day. I was thinking that it would be interesting to add the opportunity to make your own weapons from bits and bobs scattered around the game and constructing them at crafting benches, and in doing so, add a lot of customisation options. A gun would be built out of several main parts, such as; -Receiver, which will determine the caliber of the gun-Stock, which will add weight but increase accuracy if you choose to add one, and less so if you use a lighter one or forgo one entirely-Barrel, which may determine power, accuracy and whether the weapon is silenced or not-Optics, which will affect weight, but may allow use of a scope-Foregrip, which will affect durability and accuracy I'm currently in the process of modeling and texturing some of these weapon components, but I would like the thoughts of the community on this one. It would be quite an ambitious project, but I'm sure it would be well worth it in the end. Cheers!
chesty762
Seems like the only thing you'd need to do is write a list of all the combinations possible, then get truckin and make all the meshes and textures for each combo. Or just cleverly mash together vanilla weapons to avoid doing some from scratch. This'll get you thinking about some possibilities:http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41099and http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41430
